Shepherd’s Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3-4 potatoes
  • 1/3 C milk
  • 3/4 C peas
  • 1/2 C chopped onion
  • 3/4 C chopped mushrooms
  • 1/2 C shredded carrots
  • 1 pack of brown gravy mix
  • sprinkle of shredded cheese
  • salt and pepper
  1. Peel and boil potatoes, rice or mash after they are cooked. (You can add a bit of milk here if you want)
  2. Preheat oven to 375
  3. Brown the mushrooms and onions together in a cast iron skillet.
  4. Add the beef and brown.
  5. Mix the gravy powder and water according to the package, then add to the beef mix along with the veggies.
  6. Stir until gravy has thickened around the meat and veggies.
  7. Put the mashed potatoes on top, smooth the top, the use a fork to put ridges in the potatoes.
  8. Finish with a bit a cheese and bake for 10 min.
  9. Broil until top is golden and a bit crispy.
