Shawarma Spice Mix

Ingredients:

  •  1/4 cup ground black pepper
  •  1/4 cup ground allspice
  •  1/4 cup garlic powder
  •  2 tablespoons ground cloves
  •  2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  •  2 tablespoons ground nutmeg
  •  2 tablespoons ground cardamom
  •  1 tablespoon chili powder ( I reduced this being nervous not to make it too spicy)
  •  1 tablespoons dried oregano (I used Italian seasoning since I didn’t have pure oregano)
  •  1 tablespoon salt

Thoughts:

I made a half batch of this before I was convinced it was going to be good, it was.

I typically add a bit more salt when I am using it, but you wouldn’t have too, you could season it at the table.

Marinade the chicken/beef/etc with this plus a white of oil and vinegar. Exactly how much you add it up to you.

I normally marinate chicken with this for 30 minutes minimum then grill it, lovely.
