Miso Soup
4 cups water
1 1/2 teaspoons instant dashi granules
1/2 cup shiro miso paste
1 tablespoon dried seaweed (for miso soup), soaked in water
1/2 cup cubed tofu2 tablespoons chopped green onion
Boil water, add Dashi.
Add reconstituted seaweed.
Add tofu. Allow to simmer for a few minutes.

Take about 1c of broth out of pot, add to miso paste to make a smooth sauce in a bowl.
TURN OFF HEAT TO SOUP!
Add miso sauce (be sure not to boil the miso).
Serve with sprinkle of green onion.
Makes 4 portions.
Serves 1.5 people (Maryann gets 3.5 portions, I get 1/2 portion.)
