Greek cookies from Carol Sulkowski

Ingredients

  • 2 C sweet butter
  • 3/4 C confectioners sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 jigger of brandy, cognac or whiskey
  • 4.5 C flour
  • whole cloves
  • confectioners sugar for topping

Directions

  1. Cream butter till very lights.
  2. Gradually beat in sugar, then egg and booze.
  3. Slowly add in flour to make a soft dough.
  4. With floured hands, shaped into 1.5 inch balls.
  5. Stud each ball with 1 whole clove.
  6. Place on baking sheet, bake at 350 for 15 min.
  7. Cool slightly, sift confectioners sugar over cookies.
