Ingredients
- 4 C flour
- 1/4 C sugar
- 1 t salt
- 1/2lb butter
- 1 C warm milk
- 3 egg yolks (save the eggs whites)
- 1 T yeast
- 1/4 C warm water
- 1 C sugar
- 2 t cinnamon
- 1 C nuts
- 1 C white raisins
- powdered sugar
- milk
- almond extract
Directions
- Mix flour, sugar, salt in bowl.
- Cut in butter (as for pie crust).
- Add milk and beaten egg yolks and dissolved yeast. Beat well and chill over night.
- Prepare filling by mixing together sugar, nuts, cinnamon and raisins.
- Divide dough and roll. Spread whipped eggs white on dough.
- Spread filling on dough. Roll up as if for a jelly roll.
- Put in pans and let it rise until its doubled in size.
- Bake at 350 for 15 min, then 300 for 30 min.
