Cranberry Bread

Credit to my great grandmother Lucille Frandeen.

Ingredients

  • 1 C sugar
  • 2 T butter
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/2 t baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • juice and zest of 1 orange
  • 1 C nuts
  • 1 C cranberries
  • 1 C flour

Directions

  1. Sift dry ingredients into a bowl.
  2. Add egg, beaten.
  3. Melt butter in a cup and add boiling water to make 3/4 C. Add to dry ingredients.
  4. Add nuts, cranberries and orange.
  5. Bake in a loaf pan for 60-75 min at 350. Top should be brown and cracked.
