Brie en Croute

Show stopping appetizer, decadent, and very customizable. Be creative.

Ingredients:

  • Round of Brie
  • Puff Pastry or pie crust (your choice)
  • Toppings/Filling (pick some or none, up to you)
    • Apricot preserves
    • Tart apple
    • Walnuts
    • Raisins
  • Crackers, apples, pears to serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375
  2. Cut the top rind off the brie
  3. Place the Brie on top of 1 sheet of pastry
  4. Top the brie with any/all of your fillings. (I used apricot preserves and thing sliced apple)
  5. Cover the brie with a second piece of pastry. Crimp to seal. You can also use a extra large pastry and fold the pastry under the brie and bake it on top of the creases.
  6. Bake the Brie until the pastry is golden. Roughly 30 minutes? Check after 20…
  7. Let cool for 5-10 minutes or else the brie will really run out (or maybe you want that!!)
  8. Serve
